There are two types of people on this earth -- people with external control panel, and people with internal control panel.
People with external control panel believe external events control their destiny, and therefore, at the mercy of their environment all the time. They are always waiting for something to happen before they can be happy. In essence, they have no control at all for their lives.
People with internal control panel believe they determine their own destiny. Events outside their control can happen, but they are self-determine and steer their own ship, and decide the course they will take. In essence, they are in control of their lives.

I'm not sure which type I am.
I'm always fighting to be happy.
I've never ever waited a prince on white horse.
If I have problems, I'll try to solve it as much as I can.
But when something I can't control had happened, I needed to accept it as my destiny, and try to find what I can do within it.
But it's not the same as what you're saying -- "steer their own ship, and decide the course they will take".
And I feel my attitude made me "small".
I'm longing your blogs to figure out how to change myself.
